The envoy further added that he spoke to Assad and exchanged their views on the on-going crisis. The two also discussed on the possible steps that would move the two countries forward.  The envoy spoke shortly to the reporters at the end of the meeting with the Syrian leader at the presidential palace.

Envoy Brahimi said that the situation in Syria is still not out of worry and hopes that all parties involved will reach a solution that mass Syrians are hoping for.

The pro-government state news agency of Syria stated that, President Assad stated that his government is in support of any effort in Syrian people’s interest and is helpful in preventing the sovereignty and independence of Syria.

Analysts suggest that, in spite of these efforts or talks by the peace envoy Brahimi, there has been little progress made towards bringing an end to the conflict.
