Tales Soare, a Brazilian model, 26-old, has died after collapsing on the catwalk on the last day of Sao Paulo’s fashion week, Saturday.
Footage showed him turning around as he approached the top of the catwalk before he appeared to stagger and fall face-first to the ground. People in the crowd initially thought his fall was part of a performance. Paramedics rushed to attend him on stage. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. Organizers of Sao Paolo Fashion Week have not revealed the cause of death. They posted a message on Instagram in memory of the model: “May God welcome you with open arms! Life is definitely a catwalk, we're just passing through! Very sad!” Mr Soares had never complained about any health problems, maintained a vegetarian diet and was not known to use illegal substances. He was signed to Base MGT modelling agency.
Fashion brand Ocksa said on Instagram that its entire team was 'shocked' by the death of Soares. The São Paulo Fashion Week is an clothing trade show held semi-annually in São Paulo. It is considered the fifth largest fashion week after in the world behind New York, London, Paris and Milan.
