The Ayana Resort and Spa in Bali, Indonesia, introduced an interdiction for the use of smartphones and any other electronic devices, including iPads, digital cameras, Kindles and tablets when their owners are inside or near the pool.
This is called „the digital detox” and is explained as a way to „create a place of tranquility, where our guests can truly relax and be in the moment." In statistics, Twenty percent of respondents said they checked their phone at least once an hour while traveling, while 14% confessed to checking twice an hour. But it’s understood, at Ayana Resort and Spa in Bali things are different. They even offer a special cocktayl named Digital Detox, made of vodka, yuzu, honey and clear tomato juice in the hope that people will forget about smartphones.
Instead doing calls, guests must read books or magazines or simply sunbathe. Magnetic chess is also available. AYANA Resort and Spa Bali is a resort managed by Capella Hotel Group, LLC.
