Yasser Arafat died at a military hospital in Paris back in 2004. Experts hailing from France, Russian and Switzerland will take sample from the remains to confirm whether his death was a natural one or from poisoning.

Back in August, France authorities began a murder investigation after Swiss experts discovered Po-210 radioactive substance on his personal belongings.

According to Arafat’s medical records, the cause of death has been suggested as a stroke resulting from blood disorder.

At the time of his death, his widowed wife objected to the performance of a post-mortem but asked the Palestinian officials to allow the exhumation with a view to reveal the actual cause of death.

Yasser Arafat’s body was placed in a mausoleum located inside the Muqataa presidential compound in the city of Ramallah. Earlier this month, the mausoleum was sealed off.
