He went to a house at Ross Court in Sunbury about 9pm on Monday. He met the woman through a dating app and had arranged to meet her on Monday night. Emergency services were called to the woman’s home where Maulin Rathod was found with life-threatening injuries. He succumbed at a Melbourne hospital on Tuesday. The woman, a resident of Sunbury, was arrested and charged with intentionally causing serious injury. Her charges will be revised to manslaughter or murder after she appears at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on July 30.
The teenager lived alone. “He was a very nice person, had a jolly nature and was a cricket lover. I loved to hang around him. He had a very humble personality and tried really hard with his studies,” a friend described Maulin. In fact, no one says exactly wwhat it happened. According to Rathod’s friend Lovepreet Singh, he was the only child and had moved to Australian four years ago for studying. He was in the process of completing his Masters of Accounting. Mr Rathod’s friends were banding together to raise money to send his body back to India so he can be buried near his family.
