President Volodymyr Zelensky traveled to Japan for the G7 meeting


Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky traveled in secrecy to Hiroshima in Japan for the G7 meeting on Saturday seeking military aid. His country needs figher jets to try win the war with Russia. Zelensky used a French government plane. “Japan. G7. Important meetings with partners and friends of Ukraine,” Mr. Zelensky wrote on Twitter shortly after landing.


On Friday, American President Biden that he would allow Ukrainian pilots to be trained on the American-made warplanes and this is a hope. Russia launched 11 attacks this month on Kyiv. Ukraine’s air defenses have intercepted the vast majority of the missiles and drones. In their joint statement, the G-7 nations, which comprise Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as the European Union maintained support for Ukraine. “We call on China to press Russia to stop its military aggression, and immediately, completely and unconditionally withdraw its troops from Ukraine,” the leaders wrote. Biden is scheduled to hold a news conference on Sunday before returning back to Washington.
