The report clearly shows the huge impact Samsung’s Galaxy S3 and Apple’s iPhone 5 had on the smartphone market. iPhone 5 generated 3% of the total smartphone internet traffic. Samsung managed to generate a similar amount of web traffic with Galaxy S3. However, Galaxy S3 owners have only generated 2 percent of the whole web traffic in Canada and U.S. .
The conclusion of the report is that iOS devices claim the number one spot for most used smartphone web traffic. No wonder! Websites began offering web pages optimized for mobile devices a long time ago. But a new phenomenon is starting. More and more websites are offering iPhone optimized web pages. Could iPhone really pass the 50% mark and start a revolution and even change the way we see the web? Only time will tell.
