An intruder was arrested on the roof of the Government House in Melbourne, Australia

She is currently on an official visit to Singapore and Indonesia. The Critical Incident Response Team confronted the man on the roof and arrested him. The roof’s pretty high and it was a bit of a delicate operation. For the instant, police did not know how the man got into the grounds and onto the building’s roof, but an investigation was underway. It was unclear how he got into the building or what direction he came from. There’s no indication that it was a protest. The man was taken to hospital for assessment. Commander Cowden of Victoria Police said it appeared the man could have been under the influence of drugs. No weapons were found. Premier Daniel Andrews said tomorrow’s state budget would include $11.5 million for security upgrades at government buildings, including the Government House.
