Parents will need to meet their children at the safe locations but they are asked to wait for further instructions, authorities communicated. Universities in Nova Scotia have also been evacuated. A total of 63 schools with grades ranging from Kindergarten upwards have been evacuated, with more than 19,000 children taken out of classes. During a press conference today it was revealed police were tipped off to the threat by a faxed letter which, claimed a bomb had been placed in several schools. The anonymous fax from an unknown person was circulated to schools across the province. Police attended each of the schools in question and deemed there was nothing suspicious found in any of the building. Officers currently do not know who is responsible and no arrests have been made. School officials in PE.I. say they hope to resume scheduled classes tomorrow.
