Experts add that this heist might affect the maple syrup industry because these missing quantities can prove to have an adverse effect on the maple syrup’s price.
The executive director of the Federation of Quebec maple syrup producers Anne-Marie Godbout refuses to estimate the magnitude of the loss. The loss is estimated to at least a couple of millions of dollars according to Sergeant Gagné. Around 10000 maple syrup producers from Quebec are represented by the federation. No producer will suffer any loss since the federation has insured all their inventories.
