Tested crayons are purchased from February to May 2015 from PartyCity and Dollar Tee, in a suburban county near San Francisco. Asbestos fibers were also found in toys purchased through Amazon.com and ToysRUs.com. The risk is low but scientists and health officials agree that no level of asbestos is safe, especially for kids. Inflammation of lungs, breathing disruption and ecen lung cancer can occur.The crayons and toys that contained asbestos were made in China and imported in the U.S. An extended investigation will try to locate such dangerous products on the market. But this is not the only case when asbestos was found in children environment. The main building at Washington High School in Cedar Rapids has been closed as officials deal with the presence of asbestos.
