A French commercial flight was escorted to New York airport after unconfirmed threat

No incidents or hazards were reported by passengers or crew. 165 passengers and 11 crew members were on board .The FBI is investigating now the situation which was created by an anonymous person who did a telephone call to a Maryland State Police barracks on Monday morning announcing a chemical bomb threat involving commercial aviation. In fact, many such calls occurred in the same day from the same person, regarding different flights. It was not about credibility but about precaution in the authorities’ reaction and they did the best. t was the first time U.S. military aircraft had escorted a private airplane or commercial aircraft since Feb. 13, when two F-15s followed a general aviation aircraft that was out of contact while flying in a restricted area near San Francisco.
