54 people are missing after a South Korean fishing boat sank

The South Korean government announced that one of the crew members has been confirmed dead of hyperthermia Seven people were rescued but 54 others are missing. According to preliminary information, there were 62 people on board. The search will continue all night long despite darkness and stormy weather. The water temperature in the ship’s wreckage area is about zero and waves are from five to six meters high in the area. The missing people are citizens of Asian countries, including South Korea, the Philippines and Indonesia. The Oryong 501 vessel was built around 36 years ago. It was operated now by South Korean fisheries firm Sajo Industries. A Russian trawler, Karolina-77, is coordinating the rescue operation at the scene with participation with another three Russian fishing vessels which interrupted their fishing.
