After 90 minutes from depart, the aircraft landed safe back in Hong Kong. The turn alerted Hong Kong police. The disordered passenger was arrested and sent to Princess Margaret Hospital. The man with complete identity undisclosed was not charged but this is possible for violating aviation security ordinance. The man became disruptive after the flight had been in the air for more than an hour. Virgin Atlantic said 240 passengers and 16 crew were on board the aircraft. “Disruptive behavior” of one or more passengers is not tolerated on board according to the airline rules. A passenger from the VS201 flight described on social media what is happened, saying: “A man was either on drugs or mentally ill, attacking staff, thinking they were taking him to space. All very scary.”
