Facebook allows many gender option in the member’s profiles

With more than 1,15 billion active monthly users around the world, Facebook allows them to keep their gender identity private but now gives them also the alternative to better define. It’s a little surprising but about 50 different terms to define the sexual orientation had been added. Androgynous, bi-gender, intersex, gender fluid or transsexual are included.
“Let us tell others who we really are” was asked for a long time by people who support the gender movement. The executive director of the San Francisco based Transgender Law Center, Masen Davis, appreciated Facebook’s action saying: “We applaud Facebook for making it possible for people to be their authentic selves online.” On the other part, different opinion is expressed. As an example, the issues analyst Jeff Johnston from Focus on the Family influential national religious organization based in Denver said: “It’s impossible to deny the biological reality that humanity is divided into two halves – male and female. (…)Those petitioning for the change insist that there are an infinite number of genders, but just saying it doesn’t make it so. That said we have a great deal of compassion for those who reject their biological sex and believe they are the opposite sex.”
