Christians persecuted in Iran

This month, the United Nations already issued a report detailing the persecution of Christians in Iran. The report sustains that "at least 20 Christians were in custody in July 2013” accused for their religious practices” Iran’s officials responded in the conservative way saying that the UN representative “considers whatever he sees in the West as an international standard for the entire world."
Regarding this last sentence against Christians from Iran, Mervyn Thomas, chief executive of Christian Solidarity Worldwide warned that these “constitute an unacceptable infringement on the right to practice faith freely and peaceably."
The Shariah Islamic law, which inspired Iran’s laws, prohibits the consumption of alcohol.
