Rockstar's game that cost 27 million dollars to make crushed its competition and showed once again that the new game from the Grand Theft Auto series is on a roll. Since the release of the game earlier this year GTA V sold out around the world. For 2014 it is estimated that the game will sell 25 million additional copies.
GTA V won the Golden Joystick award with a record crushing amount of 3 million votes. While the night seemed to belong only to GTA V the other awards which were handed out meant just as much for gamers that came to London for this event from all around the world.
Other awards were given to Assassin’s Creed III for the Best Handheld game for PS Vita, to The Last of US for the best newcomer and the best story-telling game. Steam OS got top honors as it got the award for the Best Gaming Platform. This award previously belonged to Sony's Playstation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360.
