President Obama had a strong voice at the United Nations General Assembly


On September 24 Barack Obama became the first American President to chair the Security Council of the United Nations, when the announced topic of the summit was in regards to the non-proliferation and nuclear disarmament. This role will allow him to make decisions and to influence legislation and resolutions.
Using the new position in the international arena, Obama said to the UN General Assembly: “Some may disagree, but I believe that America is exceptional. – in part because  we have shown a willingness, through the sacrifice of blood and treasure, to stand up not only for our own narrow self interest but for the interests of all.”
