Japanese citizens formed “Thank You” words in the Tokyo Municipal Government office square on Sunday, after the solemn momentum. The Olympic Games in 2020 are scheduled from 24 July – 9 August. Tokyo previous held three Olympics Games (one in the summer and two in the winter).
People from Japan are motivated to manifest euphoria. The economic impact due to the Olympics win will be great in Japan with the creation of 150,000 jobs and it’s gain is estimated at more than 3 trillion yen value.
As commentators observed after this decision, it seems that Japan’s capital branded itself by describing the offer as “a safe pair of hands.” In fact, the International Olympic Committee was searching a trusted host providing highest credibility. The Fukushima nuclear crisis was clarified from the perspective of the Olympic Games. The Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said to IOC members: “Let me assure you the situation is under control. It has never done and will never do any damage to Tokyo. It poses no problem whatsoever. There are no health-related problems until now, nor will there be in the future.”
An important aspect considered by the IOC was the link to Olympic sponsors from Japan’s economy.
“It is nice to have Games where we are sure the organizers will deliver” said, after the decision, Denis Oswald, an IOC member from Switzerland.
