At the same time, the latest results of an NBC News poll show that nearly 80 percent of Americans believe President Obama must receive congressional approval before using force in Syria. 50 percent of responders oppose to the military action against Syria from the US part and only 42 percent declared they support it.
As it is concerning the army, the Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said a few days ago that the US military is “ready to go.”
Considering the international doubts about the opportunity of a military intervention (best illustrated
by Britain’s position and by Russia's strong opposition) it seems a strike would be highly unlikely to happen. It is believed that USA's decision will be taken during this weekend.
