Reynolds is the owner of a PR company and he usually makes money via PayPal from selling all sorts of items via eBay. His PayPal account is a 10 year old account and the chance of this happening to anyone else in the world almost zero.
Reynolds knew a mistake was responsible for him getting that much money but even so he made plans for the money. He told the press he would have paid the national debt at first and then he would have gone to make an offer for the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team.
PayPal could not be reached to comment on this as it doesn’t want to discuss specific information related to customer-accounts for both security and privacy reasons.
