To make things even more crazy Swanson decided that he should dribble a soccer ball during the whole trip. Initially the idea seemed crazy to him too but eventually the man accepted it and thought he should follow it.
Swanson sold his house and was looking for donations and sponsors to be able to complete the 10000 mile journey. He was even hoping to make enough money to support a project with the help of which the indestructible ball he was using was made.
The trip that began on May 1st was estimated to take the whole year and was going to be tracked on a website Richard Swanson created: breakawaybrazil.com. However, the dream was short lived. Just 14 days into the journey Swanson had an unfortunate accident.
