This comes barely a couple of days after the agency reported that two mortars were thrown close to the presidential palace Tishreen. However, there were no injuries recorded in the incident. For months now, troops and rebels have taken their fight around and in Damascus. According to opposition reports, on Tuesday over fifty people got killed in the suburbs. In another region, thirty one people were killed in what is reportedly an army attack carried out on the second largest city in Syria, Aleppo.
Activists and eyewitnesses are of the opinion that this is the deadliest attack recorded in a long time. According to reports made by the UN, at least 70,000 people have died since the conflict begun sometime in March 2011 against the president, Bashar al-Assad. At the same time, death penalty has been recommended by Lebanese judge against the former Lebanese minister for plotting attacks.
