The 17-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg announced on Tuesday that she and her father had symptoms of Covid-19.
The founder of the Fridays for Future youth movement said she had not been tested for the virus but given the combined symptoms and circumstances it was very likely she had it. „Around ten days ago I started feeling some symptoms, exactly the same time as my father - who traveled with me from Brussels." However Thunberg said her symptoms were so mild she would hardly notice them under normal circumstances. She and her father had self isolated because she had visited countries hit by coronavirus infection around central Europe.

"I was feeling tired, had shivers, a sore throat and coughed," Thunberg said. "My dad experienced the same symptoms, but much more intense and with a fever." In Sweden only people in emergency can be tested. Now Greta said she is well. She wrote she has "basically recovered." Sweden has 2272 confirmed cases of the virus, with 36 deaths. "We who don't belong to a risk group have an enormous responsibility, our actions can be the difference between life and death for many others," the activist wrote.
