Two hundred thousand Euros might not be such a big amount for Apple which reportedly has close to 91 billion Euros in the bank but it marks the end of a strange period for Apple. The company refused to inform its customers that according to Italy’s laws they should get two years of standard warranty for free even if they don’t pay for Apple Care.

Apple was fined with 1.2 million dollars a year ago after it was found out that the company sold its premium warranty service without telling its customers that they have a two year standard warranty included at no extra cost. Apple was fined the extra quarter million dollars because it did not comply with the law between March and November this year. Apple continued selling Apple Care in stores all over Italy and on its website even if it shouldn’t have done so.
