Paul Keith Buckland, 35, a paedophile from Devon has been jailed for 20 years by Winchester Crown Court on Friday for raping a child under the age of 13.The offences were committed over 10 years ago while he was living in Tidworth, on the eastern edge of Salisbury Plain. The facts didn’t come to light until 2020. Buckland refused to attend court to hear his sentence and this was considered an aggravating factor, increasing his sentence.
As well as his 20-year prison term, he will also be required to sign on to the sex offenders’ register and be subject to a sexual harm prevention order. „Actions such as his have long-lasting and traumatic effects on their victims, which can manifest in myriad ways,” investigating officer DC Louise Thomas, of the Child Abuse Investigation Team, said.
