Deadly car crash on the way to a Halloween party, in Perham Down


A 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were pronounced dead at the scene in Perham Down, near Tidworth, Wilts near an army barracks, after a car, Renault Clio, crashed into a tree after leaving the road, on Friday. Only one vehicle was involved in the crash. Four other people were injured. Two of them were in a serious condition having life-threatening injuries. One was taken there via air ambulance. The occupants of the car were wearing Halloween costumes and make-up and were on the way to a Halloween party. Fire crews from Dorset and Wiltshire and Rescue Service and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident.


The Wiltshire Police investigated the accident. The police spokesperson added: “If you have any information regarding the collision, including if you saw the vehicle involved earlier in the evening, please call 101 and quote log number 326 of Friday, October 29.” The road remained closed for most of the day. The Ministry of Defence said it was aware of the incident. A source claims a number of people inside the car were members of the armed forces. A driving error is suspected as the cause of accident. People concerned about the prospect of a party can sometimes be careless.
