Nine people, including a four year boy, were injured, some of them seriously, at a birthday party of a 17-year-old in Bautzen, Germany, on Thursday evening, when a balcon collapse occurred. The young people fell through the floor of the balcony and hit the ground. Four people were trapped under the debris. The people injured in this accident are between 4 and 61 years old. One person was left in a life-threatening condition.The wooden balcony on the three-story apartment building was apparently unable to withstand excessive loads, as the Görlitz police department announced. There were, at a some time, 11 people in the balcony. The fire brigade, rescue service and police were on site with several emergency services and vehicles. The fire brigade was deployed with about 70 people. It was initially unclear why the balcony collapsed. The balcony had been attached to the apartment building at a later date. The people injured in this accident are between 4 and 61 years old.
