Small explosion occurred Friday in Rome, Italy, near a post office

The explosive device which was equipped with a timer was supposed assembled by a “competent” individual, not an amateur. There was a single device which went off twice and not two as it was initially reported. Fire and bomb disposal squads have arrived at the scene, while police have cordoned off the area. The explosion had caused a little fire because the device included comprised bottles of liquid , possibly gasoline. A false bomb report followed the explosion and determined closure of Circus Maximus but traffic was not affected. A section of Via Marmorata had been cordoned off. No one has claimed responsibility for the blast. The police believes an anarchist group was the author. Investigators say there was no immediate suspicion of terrorism.
