Hugh Doyle, John Collins, William Lincoln, Terry Perkins, Daniel Jones, Carl Wood and Brian Reader were all convicted last year for the heist in London and received jail sentences of 6-7 years. Before finding their identity it was believed that an elite group of thieves or foreign professionals was to blame for the robbery but it was later found that the people responsible for the break-in were actually retired hard men.
Close to two years have passed since the Hatton Garden jewelry raid but Metropolitan Police officers restarted investigations checking into the new claim. The total amount stolen now stands at about 26 million dollars. The vault and the thick concrete wall which was drilled by the thieves will be relocated to the Museum of London where the public can analyze and see how it was targeted.
