An increase in police personnel, a central crime unit for pursuing crime on the Internet and depriving Germans who join foreign “terror militias” of their citizenship are on the plan too. “I am convinced that these proposals will increase security quickly,” Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere told the media in a special press conference in Berlin. It’s expected that all the proposals could be implemented in this legislative period. A new task force will be created to concentrate on speeding up individual cases of foreign criminals who are in line for deportation. The dark zone of the Internet will be object of increased surveillance. The “sympathetic promotion” of terrorism would become a crime in Germany with all legal consequence. The new security plan made public has some opponents. They have doubts about efficiency and express them in various forms.
