Queen bans drones from entering royal estate air space

Not only will this ban help against possible attacks against the Queen but it will also keep away paparazzi photographers from taking photos from the air and thus potentially capturing private activities. The first time flying drones in the UK was considered a criminal offence was when the Department for Transport declared that low-flying an aircraft within 1.5 miles of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s home is illegal. A fine of £5,000 was enforced for offenders.

This latest ban the Queen has now enforced is believed to be the largest single area in the UK where the landowner decided to enforce a ban on the use of all drones without permission. These kind of restrictions are nothing new. They are in fact very similarly issued to how drones are banned around nuclear power stations, military bases and airports.
