British explorer has died after 71 days crossing of Antarctica

His goal was to attempt to complete in 75 to 80 days the projected route of famed adventurer Sir Ernest Shackleton a century ago. “Shackleton and his style of leadership became an important part of my character,” Worsley told  He also sought to raise money for the Endeavour Fund, a charity managed by the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry., to assist injured and ailing military personnel.
