Two suspects arrested in Belgium for planning attacks in Brussels


The arrests were made in different parts of the country and came after a series of raids on Sunday and Monday in the Brussels, Liege and Brabant regions. Military clothing and ISIS propaganda were discovered in house searches but no weapons or explosives were found. No link with last month’s attacks in Paris was found. The prosecutor’s office said an investigation had brought to light the threat of serious attacks targeting symbolic locations in Brussels during end-of-year celebrations. did not name the suspects or provide further details. Brussels has been on the highest alert, fearing a similar deadly assault on its citizens. Imams in Belgium preach the tolerance of Islam, bur some Muslims are not listening and not accept this. As it’s estimated, today the Islamic State has some 6,000 to 7,000 Europeans engaged in jihad and perhaps 10,000 to 15,000 sympathizers.
