British Education Minister has a plan to monitor children’s Internet activity

As an example, last February, three teenagers from east London traveled to Istanbul with the intention of going to Syria to join Islamic State. Schools will monitor use by children and teach them to use the Internet safely. The plans announced by the Education Secretary, Nicky Morgan, will require schools to filter inappropriate content, monitor pupils’ internet use. The overhaul of pupils’ use of the internet will also help to tackle other issues such as cyberbullying and pornography, it was claimed. Baroness Shields, Minister for Internet Safety and Security, said that while the government had made the web safer for young people, “risks and dangers” remain. The parents will also be required to participate monitoring children’s Internet activity at home.
