The shooting started in St.Denis before 4.30 a.m. A woman died after detonating a suicide vest at the scene. Four men and another woman were arrested. Five police officers were injured during the incident. A police dog was also killed. Pne civilian passerby was injured during an exchange of gunfire. Authorities believe one suspect remained inside the dwelling. Heavy gunfire was reported for several hours. About three hours into the operation several explosions could be heard at irregular intervals. Witnesses people in the area were scared. Some people who lived nearby were escorted by police from their homes. The police operation involved France’s elite RAID units. Saint-Denis is near the Stade de France.
