Rescuers are still checking to determine there were any more victims because, in fact, the avalanche hit three groups of climbers. Two teams of dogs and a helicopter had been sent out to find people who may have become caught up in the avalanche. It’s supposed the avalanche was likely triggered when a layer of snow separated and hurtled down the hill. This was deadliest snowslide to hit the popular mountain range this year. Climbers and skiers are sporadically caught in avalanches in the popular Alps. Last winter, at least 28 people died in avalanches in France. However, the beauty of the nature and the sense of adventure are strong for people who like winter and the mountains.
