Eight people including two children died in an apartment., some of them leaping from the burning building’s windows. Four survivors – some of whom are in a critical condition – are in hospital. About 15 other buildings in the area had been affected by the blaze. Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo and Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve were on the scene early Wednesday. Nothing announced the tragedy. The building had not had any previous problems and had been in good condition. The cause of the fire was not known. Police do investigation to determine whether the fire was started intentionally. Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said it was “too early to determine the causes of this tragedy.” However, “it’s clear that when you have two call-outs in the same night… this could be a malicious act,” interior ministry spokesman Pierre-Henry Brandet said.
