This was called the Renedo Declaration. One of its 13 articles says: “all residents are born equal and have the same right to existence”; “a resident, whether human or non-human, is entitled to respect”, is the content of another. The article 9 states: “No non-human resident should be exploited for the pleasure or recreation of man.” The abandonment of animals is also defined as “a cruel and degrading act.” This initiative with easy to understand motivation will be probably long discussed worldwide and probably will generate positive attitudes to protect animals.
