The law on intelligence-gathering to be adopted in French Parliament

A threaten to the independence of the digital economy and an extension of mass surveillance are however supposed by the opposition, which ask to the law makers to think twice before committing an attack to democracy. The most sensible point is the intention to authorize new methods, such as the bulk collection of metadata via internet providers, even if the plan considers set up of a supervisory body, the National Commission for Control of Intelligence Techniques (CNCTR). Some street demonstrations were organized by the opponents.The government specified there will be a new watchdog to keep an eye on the intelligence services and complaints from the public will be handled.
