The emergency services tried for hours to rescue him but without any luck. Throwing down 200ft of rope from the cliff’s top was the only solution but at a 900ft distance it was impossible to get the rope to the Simkins without hurting and killing him.
Eventually Jake Simkins fell 180ft to his death after the rocks holding him gave away. Anita, his girlfriend, was on the beach below and she assisted to the whole incident. In the last moments of his life Jake Simkins talked with Anita on the mobile phone and was constantly letting her know he was ok.
