It is still unknown what the drug is made of but besides ecstasy’s main chemical MDMA, medics believe the red pills also contain another substance called PMA. PMA was in 2013 alone the culprit for the death of 10 people within a 60-mile radius of Manchester.
Besides carrying tests on the 16 year old teenager, medics are also treating a 17-year old boy who fell ill from the drug in the same day. Last month the imprinted dragon image ecstasy-style drug is believed to have killed Miss MacColl. The 17-year-old girl from West Dunbartonshire presumably took one red tablet on February 1st at Glasgow nightspot The Arches.
While authorities struggle to find more information regarding who is supplying this illegal deadly drug they keep the public informed about what the drug can do. Anyone who knows someone who might have taken the drug is advised to contact a local hospital within the first hours for advice and treatment.
