According to a Palace spokesman the queen was impressed by the girl's bravery. The spokesman declared the following to the press regarding Malala's attendance: “We understand that Malala Yousafzai will be attending the Commonwealth Universities and Education Reception at Buckingham Palace.”
Malala Yousafzai, 16 years of age, was shot after her pleas for girls to be educated reportedly upset a Taliban. The man followed the girl, boarded a bus in the Valley of Swat and shot the girl in the head. The bullet went through her eye socket and barely missed her brain.
Her condition was so bad that her parents already began arranging for her funeral. But, after being transferred to an army cardiology hospital her health improved with better intensive care.
