French President Francois Hollande deployed to the scene where the general aspect was horrible: some derailed cars were cruising metallic parts of the rail station’s platform.
As the interior minister communicated after accident, at least seven people were killed. Many dozens were injured and transported at hospitals.
The exact cause of the accident is unknown. Survivors from the train declared that the train was going at normal speed.
After the first investigations it resulted that the train split in two. A part continued to roll. This train is a regional service operating more slowly than Frances’ s TG express.
The victims from the accident was crushed or electrocuted. Flying glass from the train windows injured many people.
The last big rail accident in France was in 1988, when 56 people were killed.
