Fifty-eight year old Rowan Atkinson, who is worth 112 million dollars, has crashed his car near Peterborough in August 2011 after he drove through a slippery patch of road. The insurance company requested an evaluation of the car damages.
This was no easy task as it took McLaren experts close to four weeks to conclude that the car repair bill would be somewhere around 1.58 million dollars.
Although Rowan Atkinson bought the car for $1 million dollars in 1997 the Insurance company decided to go ahead with the repair because the car value increased dramatically over the years. A McLaren F1 example even sold for $5.5 million dollars.
