Russian Duma banned "gay propaganda"

“The gay propaganda” was banned in Russia. The Russian parliament lover house passed on Tuesday a law against “propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations”. Because the high anti-gay attitude, the next steps to adopt this law (the decision of the upper house of parliament and the President signature) are predictable.

Third day of protests in Turkish towns and cities

Tens of thousands of people erected barricads in the street, on the third day of protests, near the prime minister’s office in Istanbul’s Besiktas district. The police intervened to disperse the crowd using tear gas and water cannons.

UK student sentenced to community service for posting hate speech on Twitter

Deyka Ayan Hassan, a 21-year-old female student from UK, thought it was funny to pick on supporters of the forces charity.

She posted on the online micro-blogging service and social networking service the following hate speech: "to be honest, if you wear a Help for Heroes t-shirt you deserve to be beheaded".

Dozens rescued from charity sea swim

The Southwold Pier-to-Pub Swim, where many people took part, quickly transformed in a disaster. More than 130 people were rescued by the Coast Guard crew as they got into difficulty.

The initial reports suggest that many people are still missing. During the rescue operations a rescue helicopter and four life boats were used.
