A missile fired by rebels wounded dozens people at an airport in Saudi Arabia

26 people have been wounded in a missile attack, Wednesday, in Saudi Arabia, when a projectile struck the arrival hall of Abha's airport near the border with Yemen, at 2:21am local time.

Three women and two children are among the 26 hurt in the attack. Eight have been hospitalized and the rest sustained minor injuries. The missile was fired by the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels. A strategic guided cruise missile was used in the attack. „The terrorist elements responsible for planning and carrying out this attack will be held accountable,” Turki al-Malki, spokesman of the US-backed Saudi-led coalition said in a statement. The airport, which services flights within Saudi Arabia, as well as to Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, suffered from material damage.

The attack followed an earlier interception, by Saudi air defense systems on Tuesday, of two Houthi combat drones that targeted a military base. Saudi Arabia has regularly come under attack from Yemen as it wages a three-year military campaign in the nation. The Arab Coalition branded the strike as a „”war crime.” The Saudi-Emirati coalition has intensified air raids on Houthi positions in the northern Yemeni province of Hajjah.
