An Uttarakhand Roadways state transport bus traveling from Mussoorie to Dehradun fell into an approximately 70 meters deepgorge on Mussoorie-Dehradun road in India on Sunday. The accident happened near Shergadi. A team of police officials, a fire service team, ITBP and an ambulance have arrived at the spot. There were 40 passengers in the bus:16 women, 19 men and five children. A woman and her daughter died in the accident. All others including the bus driver suffered injuries and transported to hospitals. Some are reported as “critical.”
Rash driving apparently led to the accident as the driver could not control the vehicle on a turning near the ITBP camp. DS Kohli, police station in-charge Mussoorie, said a break fail occurred and the bus broke the parapet. „I pray to God that the departed souls get a place at his feet and the injured get well soon”, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in his statement said.
