Semirom’s Mount Dena  is extremely difficult to reach. Iranian emergency crews had yet to reach the crash site in the central Isfahan province. Bad weather prevented helicopters from flying there, and emergency crews were trying to reach the area by road. The Aseman Air plane that crashed was built in late 1993.The authorities wouldn’t be able to determine what caused the crash until they retrieved its black box.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani offered condolences over the deadly plane crash. The very tragic incident of passenger plane crashing on Tehran-Yasuj route, which led to the death of a number of our fellow Iranians, caused great grief and sorrow,”he said.  “The plane which crashed today faced technical problems midair during a recent flight a few weeks ago,” Roozarooz news reported. The last fatal crash involving an Iranian carrier was in 2014, when a Sepahan Airlines passenger plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Tehran, killing 40 people.
