Large Muslims protests across Asia after some remarks about the Prophet made in India


After derogatory remarks against the Prophet Muhammad by two members of the governing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in India large protests occurred and became violent in this country and in other Asian Muslim countries. It’s anger in the Islamic World. Around 20 countries have called in their Indian ambassadors.The Friday protests over the remarks against the Prophet were witnessed in a number of cities and states, including the northern Uttar Pradesh state, West Bengal, Maharashtra and the capital New Delhi. Dozens people have been arrested. Dozens of protesters were injured and two were killed in India. The BJP suspended its spokeswoman Nupur Sharma for making insulting remarks against Islam’s prophet and expelled another leader, Naveen Jindal, for his anti-Islam tweet. It was specified that such remarks are not the government’s position.


Police in New Delhi on Thursday filed cases against the two BJP members and others – including a Muslim parliamentarian and journalist – for “inciting hatred” and other charges. Police estimated more than 100,000 people mobilized across Bangladesh for protesting after midday prayers. Prosts also occurred in Pakistan. A party known for its anti-blasphemy rallies held a big march. In Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim-majority country, about 50 protesters staged a rally in front of the Indian embassy in Jakarta.
